Regularise houses of Poor in the City: KTR

Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao today expressed displeasure at the officials for not taking steps to regularise the house of people who have been staying in the dwellings for decades in Sanathnagar and segments in the city.

He held a review meeting at Assembly meeting hall with Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav and others and took stock of the regularisation steps. KTR directed the officials to prepare reports to regularise such housing facilities in the city as the government is ready to ease norms. The Government is ready to implement the GOs 58 or 59 for paving for dwelling for the poor in the city and the officials should make necessary steps. He wanted to know as to why the officials failed to implement the GO 58 to regularise the houses of the people residing in the government lands and of some departments.

Aim of the government is to provide shelter to the poor and the two orders should be implemented, he clarified. We are ready to set aside the old norms and make necessary changes to provide shelter to the people in the city and steps should be taken accordingly. Steps be taken to regularise 60 service quarters of GHMC at Hyder basti, new Bohiguda, BJR Nagar under Sanathnagar segment, regularise 134 houses in Jeera Compound by issuing fresh GO in addition to existing GO 816, he said. He also asked to free hold 637 houses in Adaiahnagar, Ramgopalpet, New Bohiguda as per GOs 58 and 59, regularise 11 houses in old Jail Khana area at Vadderabasti of Secunderabad and regularise houses of 35 families in Nagarajeshwari nagar in the labour land by taking up the issue with labour and home minister N Narsimha Reddy. He asked to hold talks with Endowment wing for construction of double bedroom houses in Jeera area in the land of endowment wing. KTR directed Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy to start works of multi level parking at Balkampet station as endowment wing gave permission. He sought steps for a plan for new bridge replacing the old FatheNagar ROB by implementing TDR against offering compensation to the victims.(NSS)
