Register properties without safety certificate, again

New Delhi, April 26: Delhi Government today lifted a ban making structural safety certificate of buildings mandatory for registration of properties in the city.

The lifting of the ban will help people get their properties registered without procuring a structural safety certificate as well as building sanction plan.

In an order issued on March 30, the government had made structural safety certificate and building sanction plans mandatory for registration of properties in the city.

The government today issued an order keeping its earlier order in “abeyance”.

Following the order, which came into effect on March 30, the registration of properties across the city had slowed down significantly resulting in an average loss of around Rs 2 crore daily to the exchequer.
