Peoples’ Union for Civil Liberties has demanded to register a case against Akberuddin Owaisi, MIM MLA of Chandrayangutta Assembly constituency for attempting the murder of Ibrahim Yafai.
The fact finding report was prepared by the People’s Union for Civil Liberties at the request made by the slain Ibrahim Yafai’s mother Ms. Zubeda Begum. The Minorities Mahila Welfare Association also prepared the comprehensive report after thorough enquiry. According to the president Jaya Vindhyalaya, the facts are very surprising.
She blamed the police that it is dancing to the tunes of Majlis. When she contacted the local residents of Barkas to find out the facts, they expressed the surprise that why hasn’t police register a case against the culprits.
The president of PUCL questioned that when it is being told that there was an attack on Akbaruddin Owaisi and he was seriously injured. He had put on a T-Shirt at that time. Why is that T-Shirt not being brought to light? Criticizing the then commissioner of police, she said that he tried to cover up the incident to save Akberuddin Owaisi. She pointed out that, Mr. A.K. Khan at one time had told that Akbaruddin Owaisi had a gun with him. Why are these details not being exposed?
She expressed her sympathy with the family members of Mohammed Pahelwan and told that police is harassing them. She also told that police is under pressure from MIM to such an extent that without its permission, no complaint is registered. If it is not so, why didn’t the police accept the complaint of the family members of Mohammed Pahelwan for registering a murder case against Akbaruddin Owaisi.
In the TV footage it can be clearly seen that Akbaruddin Owaisi had made use of a gun whereas his gunman who was standing behind him had fired. She demanded to make the post-mortem report public and conduct enquiry by a high court judge and also register a murder case against Akbaruddin Owaisi. She said that when Ibrahim Yafai died in the firing and his brothers were injured why has action been taken only against the injured persons?
She said that it is a matter of a compromise between Govt. and Majlis. Due to this, it is difficult for a common citizen to get justice. Lamenting on the poor conditions of the residents of old city, she said that police opens rowdysheets of such poor persons.
