Register FIR against PM Modi, others in Rafale deal : Sanjay Singh to CBI

New Delhi: AAP leader, Sanjay Singh wrote a letter to the CBI requesting registration of an FIR in connection with the Rafale deal against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and others involved in the purchase of the fighter jets.

“Registration of FIR in Rafale Deal against the persons, who are prima facie directly/indirectly involved in causing huge loss to the exchequer including the Prime Minister of India,” demands the letter.

Singh also demanded that a thorough investigation must be conducted by the CBI after the registration of FIR, in the light of disclosure made by a newspaper.

Amid the uproar on the Rafale Deal, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday rejected Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s allegation based on a media report that claimed the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) ran parallel negotiations with France on the multi-billion Rafale fighter jet deal.

“A newspaper published a file noting written by Defence Secretary. If a newspaper publishes a noting, then the ethics of journalism will demand that the newspaper publishes the then Defence Minister’s reply as well,” Sitharaman said.
