Regional level meetings in AP to effectively implement RTI Act

Hyderabad, October 23: Andhra Pradesh Information Commission would conduct five regional level review meetings to ensure proper and effective implementation of the provision of the RTI Act in the State.

The first regional review meeting would be held on October 25 at Warangal district Collectorate which will cover Adilabad, Khammam and Karimnagar districts in which district Collectors, Superintendents of Police, Joint Collectors and Revenue Divisional Officers (RDOs) would attend the meeting, an official release said here today.

Four other meetings at Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Hyderabad would be held in next month.

State Chief Information Commissioner Jannat Hussain and three information commissioners A Subba Rao, R Dileep Reddy and K Sudhakar Rao will participate in all the five regional review meetings.

During the visit the Commission will review the implementation of the RTI Act and check the registers maintained by Public Information Officers (PIOs) and Appellate Authorities.
