Refined palmolein falls moderately on poor offtake

Mumbai, January 16: Refined palmolein prices declined moderately in the oils and oilseeds market here today due to poor offtake coupled with lower Malaysian advices. However, castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial edged up on mild enquiries from shippers and soap industry.

Castorseeds futures moved up on fresh export orders. Linseed oil, however, ruled steady in the absence of market moving factors.

In the edible section, refined palmolein fell by Rs 4 to Rs 383 from yesterday”s closing level of Rs 387. Groundnut oil, however held steady at Rs 675.

Turning to the non-edible section, castorseeds bold moved up by Rs 5 to Rs 2,885 from Rs 2,880 and castoroil commercial inched up to Rs 607 against Rs 606 earlier. Moving to the futures section, castorseeds February contract resumed higher at Rs 2,890 and advanced further to Rs 2,907 before ending at Rs 2,900 against Rs 2,884, showing a modest gain of Rs 6.
