The High Court directed the Telangana State government to initiate steps to reduce the pollution in Hussain Sagar lake.
While hearing the petition on Ganesh Idols immersion in Hussian Sagar lake here on Thursday, the Court directed the State government to take steps whatever steps taken by the Karnataka government in reducing the pollution due to Ganesh idols immersion. The Court also asked the government to initiate steps to see that the natural colors to be used in making Ganesh idols. The government has to arrange special enclosure for immersion of the idols.
The State government revealed to the Court that it will spend Rs.5crore for using natural colors and extensive campaign would be taken up in reducing the height of the idols. Later, the Court posted the hearing for July 4. (NSS)
