Hyderabad, August 15: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy is leaving on a two-day trip to New Delhi tomorrow.
He will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday to seek financial assistance from Centre to meet the drought situation prevailing in the state.
Sources in the Chief Minister’s Office said Rajasekhara Reddy would request the Centre to grant an additional Rs 2000 crore under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme to provide wage employment to more people in view of the drought.
Besides, the state also wants the Centre to release Rs 103.88 crore as subsidy for providing alternative seeds to farmers in the drought-hit districts.
The Chief Minister will attend the conference of judges on Sunday. On Monday, he will attend the Chief Ministers’ meeting on internal security organised by the Government, the sources said.
