Reddy faces floor test in AP Assembly tomorrow

Hyderabad, June 03: Kiran Kumar Reddy government will face a test of its strength in Andhra Pradesh Assembly tomorrow during the election of the Speaker even before the main opposition Telugu Desam Party moves a no-confidence motion.

Rejecting the Congress’s plea for a unanimous election of Assembly Speaker and Deputy Speaker, the TDP has fielded its candidates for the two posts even as Nadendla Manohar and Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka are in the fray on behalf of the ruling party.

The TDP, which announced it will move a no-trust motion against the government over the farmers’ issue, has put up senior MLAs K E Krishna Murthy and Suddala Devaiah as its candidates for the two posts.

Praja Rajyam Party and Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, both allies of the Congress, have backed its candidates.
