Red Ribbon Express arrives in Gujarat

Banaskantha, December 20: Ten-coach Red Ribbon Express aimed at spreading awareness about fighting against AIDS, today arrived at Palanpur railway station here from Chittodgarh, Rajasthan.

The second phase of the Red Ribbon Express, flagged off from Delhi early this month, has a coach on National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) having information on child health services and other diseases.

“We have chalked out a detailed progrmme to create awareness about the incurable killer disease HIV/AIDS in the far flung areas of the state,” District Collector R J Patel, who is also the chairperson of Aids Prevention and control Unit of the district, said.

“Four special caravans have been moving in the far flung villages of the district spreading awareness on the issue,” Patel said.

“A special provision for the youth has been made at platform to take an oath to adopt measures as suggested by the councillors in the coach itself,” he added.
