Red Alert! Suniel all set to play a Naxalite

Mumbai, July 12: Suniel Shetty is preparing to play a Naxalite in his next project, Red Alert . The film is being directed by Ananth Mahadevan.

“The best thing about the film is that it has been written by a woman, Aruna Raje. This should make people want to watch the film even more,” Suniel says.

“If a man would have written the script, it would have had more bloodshed in it. Instead, this movie will make the audiences realise the thin line between revolution and terrorism.

The Naxalites are not only fighting against the system, but also against the country.

They are killing their own people.

Even if they achieve what they desire, it will happen at the cost of ruining their own country and people. Resorting to gunfire is not the solution.

The film shows these angles and the emotion behind the movement,” says the actor.

Suniel, however, adds that Naxalites are not terrorists.

“ It is true that peace should be brought about through education and love, and not through bloodshed. But a Naxalite cannot be called a terrorist.

This is the message of the film,” he says.

Suniel hopes the audiences like him ‘ as a Naxalite’. Well, why wouldn’t he? After all, his dying acting career desperately needs a hit.

Suniel was last seen in Mission Istanbul . He is focussing more on production now and claims the reason he is not seen much these days is that he is quite particular and fussy about choosing his films.
