When Bomb blasts took place in Makkah Masjid, the TV Channels rushed to declare that it is a terrorist attack of Lashkar-e-Tayeba, Indian Mujahideen and other Muslim organizations.
The Muslim DGP of that time also blamed a Muslim organization for this attack. A leader of the so-called local political party gave a statement that Shahid Bilal is involved in Makkah Masjid Bomb Blasts.
Police opened fire indiscriminately on the innocent Muslim youths who were returning to their houses. It killed nine persons. Govt. of AP constituted an enquiry commission which pointed out that there was no need for the police to open fire.
State Minorities Commission appointed Advocate Commissioner Ravichandra who gave a report against the police attitude. National Commission for Minorities took up this case and ordered the State Govt. to pay Rs. 3 lakh compensation to the family members imprisoned Muslim youths and to recover this amount from the salaries of the erring police officers.
Govt. registered fake cases against innocent Muslim youths and sent them to jail. Swamy Aseemanad confessed his guilt of blasting a bomb in Makkah Masjid and also in Samjhuta Express. After Swamy Aseemanand’s confession and on the basis of the report of Central Minorities Commission, Govt. released innocent Muslim youths and gave them certificates of good character. Compensation wore also paid to the victims.
Govt. of AP paid this compensation out of the funds allocated for the Dept. of Minorities Welfare. It did not deduct it from the salaries of the police officers. During the past one decade more than a dozen Hindutva activists were chargesheeted in connection with terrorist activities but not a single accused was punished.
With the slow pace of investigations and by not punishing these activists, the Govt. has indirectly given a signal that it is not interested in punishing those who indulge in terrorist activities. This has encouraged them to perform many such terrorist activities.
Had the Govt. punished the accused involved in Makkah Masjid blasts, Lumbini Park explosion and Gokul Chart Bhandar incident and Sadhavi Pragya Thakur, Col. Srikanth Purohit, Aseemanand and the terrorists of LeT, Huji and such other terrorist organisatoins the bomb explosion at Dilsukhnagar would not have occurred.
