The Role
Charterhouse is working with a marine and port solutions business. Our client is looking to hire a Site Manager in the UAE who will manage various projects across ports and harbours.

As Site Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the site operations, including the managing of subcontractors and resources employed at the work site. You will act as on-site client liaison (where required) and ensure all works are conducted as per the specification, method statement and quality control plans.

You will also ensure all personnel are responsible for the health and safety of both themselves and of others in the workplace and for compliance with the risk assessment and other health, safety and environmental rules and regulations which may apply.

In addition, you will also be responsible for conducting the toolbox talks, setting out all new fenders within agreed tolerances and manufacturers recommendations and ensuring the installation methods carried out comply with the employer’s requirements and the manufacturers installation procedures.

Requirements
The successful candidate should have at least 5 years’ experience in marine / civils and have a minimum of 2 years’ working in ports / harbours. You should be able to interpret specifications, scope of works, BOQs and engineering drawings. It is essential you are Degree educated in civil engineering with an HSE certification (IOSH/NECOSH). You should also have a UAE driving license and be able to commence employment in 30 days.
