‘Recruitment of doctors, nurses and paramedics’

Hyderabad, December 14: The State Government is all set to recruit doctors, nurses and paramedical staff on a large scale. Inaugurating a Pediatric Cardio

Unit at Star Hospital in Banjara Hills here today, Chief Minister Rosaiah said public healthcare was a priority for his government and it was trying to provide critical and essential equipment in government hospitals.

He said that specialties in congenital heart diseases was a very rare facility.

He emphasised the need for private hospitals to provide better healthcare to

people due to the few number of government, community and charitable institutions’ hospitals. He wanted the private hospitals and charity hospitals to be generous in providing health care. The chief minister said the government was facing problems in recruiting doctors, especially superspecialists, to work in government hospitals as they preferred private practice or working abroad. He admitted that the efforts of the government to recruit doctors were not yielding results. The government launched the Aarogyasri scheme to provide the

poor state-of-the-art health care facilities available in private and corporate

hospitals.
