`Recovering` Taylor grateful for support post enforced retirement

Johannesburg: Former England batsman James Taylor, who recently underwent surgery for his serious heart condition , has expressed gratitude for all the support he has been receiving ever since he was forced to retire due to the injury.

The 26-year-old, who played seven Tests and 27 ODIs for England, had retired after being diagnosed with Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Arrhythmia, a condition that stops the right side of the heart pumping blood properly and may lead to sudden death.

The unfortunate news triggered an outpouring of support from all the cricket fraternity for the devastated batsman.

Thanking everyone for their affection and support, Taylor admitted the news of not being able to play cricket again had left him in hysterics, but the support which he received had kept him strong, Sport24 reported.

Taylor insisted that it was the support that kept him mentally strong to recover from the disease. (ANI)
