CPI of AP demanded the Govt. to reconsider the liquour policy and reconstitute the new policy. It threatened to launch agitation from 15th May in districts and also in front of the office of the commissioner of Excise and Prohibition.

This decision was taken in the executive committee meeting of CPI held in Makhdoom Bhavan. Mr. P. Venkat Reddy, member of the State Secretariat of CPI told the newsmen yesterday that the issues relating to by election were considered and it was decided to support TRS candidates in the remaining 18 Assembly constituencies.

He requested Ms. Sonia Gandhi to involve herself actively and take action against Mr. B. Satyanarayana, Transport Minister for his alleged involvement in liquour mafia. He suggested that Govt. should sell liquour as is being in Delhi.
