Rebel Muslim candidates of Congress withdraw nomination

On the direction of Union minister Mr. Jay Ram Ramesh the Congress Muslim candidates who had filed nomination papers as rebels have withdrawn their nomination. President Pradesh Congress Minority Department Mr. Mohammed Sirajuddin advised Muslim leaders of Congress to play active role in making Congress candidates victorious. Union minister Mr. Jai Ram Ramesh met Muslim leaders at Gandhi Bhawan and he admitted injustice in distribution of tickets and told that Congress party will do justice to Muslims in the future. Services of Muslim leaders will be availed on administrative and nominated posts, he said.

On the assurance of senior Congress leaders, Muslim leaders of Congress have withdrawn nomination from 19 assembly and 3 Lok Sabha seats however Mohammed Ghyasuddin from Rajendranagar assembly constituency and Aejaz Khan from Malakpet assembly constituency have not withdrawn nominations.

Mr. Mohammed Sirajuddin said we didn’t revolt against Congress but we had filed Muslim candidates in some assembly constituencies to bring to light the injustice done to us.
