Karachi: The bombardment of a besieged Syrian rebel stronghold killed 31 civilians near Damascus in Syria on Sunday.
According to The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Douma, one of the largest towns in the opposition-held Eastern Ghouta region was rained down by the rockets fired by regime forces, reported The Express Tribune.
Air strikes also hit the towns of Saqba and Harasta. However, it was not clear whether they were Syrian or Russian warplanes, said Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman.
Further, Rahman also mentioned that a school was hit in the strike, killing the school’s principal and two children while injuring dozen others.
