Rear windows of Chowmahalla Palace under peril

The rear windows of Chowmahalla Palace are under peril as they have become very precarious. They are in such dilapidated condition that they may collapse any time. When our correspondent tried to meet director Mr. G Kishan Rao he was told that the director is busy and was asked to come another day. The wooden pillars of the windows have lost their footing and may fall down any time.

On the other side the large door of Chowmahalla palace located at Shah Ali Banda new road has been permanently shut down. The 30 feet door has been converted by the commuters into a lavatory.

Chowmahalla palace was once used as the official residence of Huzoor Nizam but today it is given on rent for various functions and events. Government has been raking in the money at the heritage structure but pays no attention towards its repair.
