Rear admiral G S Pabby takes charge as Dockyard chief

Rear Admiral GS Pabby, VSM took over as Admiral Superintendent Naval Dockyard Vishakhapatnam from Rear Admiral KR Nair, at a ceremony held at the Naval Dockyard here today, According to Navy Spokesman Mr Pabby, VSM, who was commissioned into the Indian Navy in August 1980, is an Engineering Specialist officer and an alumnus of Naval War College and the College of Defence Management. The Admiral is a specialist in Systems and Control, with a Masters degree from IIT, Mumbai. He has held various prestigious appointments in the Indian Navy including operational, design and staff. For his distinguished service, he was awarded the Vishisth Seva Medal (VSM).

Prior to taking over the current appointment, he was posted at the Headquarters, Western Naval Command as the Chief Staff Officer (Technical). Rear Admiral KR Nair, following a tenure of 13 months as the Admiral Superintendent, Naval Dockyard here , now moves to the Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy), New Delhi after having been placed in the select list for promotion to the rank of Vice Admiral, spokesman added.
