Realtor tricked, robbed of 22 tola gold jewels

Hyderabad, July 07: Motorcycle-borne youngsters tricked a realtor and made off with 22 tola gold ornaments from his car at the Nizampet Andhra Bank branch here on Tuesday morning. The tricksters raised a false alarm that oil was leaking from his car and as the realtor got down from the vehicle to check it, they fled with a bag containing the gold ornaments, police said.

The realtor, K Kishore, of Nizampet went to the bank located near his house around 11 a.m. He took out 22 tola gold ornaments from his locker and was returning home in his Verna car when the youngsters pulled the fast one on him.

“As soon as Kishore took off in his car towards his house, two persons came from behind on a motorcycle and told him that oil was leaking from the vehicle. Kishore pulled up on the roadside and got down to check the leakage when one of the miscreants took away the bag from the rear seat and fled,” KPHB police inspector N Narasimha Reddy said.

Kishore did not close the driver’s seat door after getting down from the vehicle making the task of tricksters easier.

“Kishore noticed the theft only after he returned to the seat after checking the oil leakage, which was not there,” the inspector said.

Except saying that the miscreants could be in the age group of 25-30, the victim couldn’t recollect even the number of the bike on which they came. Kishore reportedly took the jewellery out to mortgage it as he was in need of money.
