Hyderabad: For the first time in Telangana State, the police filed a PD Act case on a woman realtor Aruna Reddy, 47, for indulging in white-collar frauds and collecting crores of rupees from gullible people and not re-paying the same to them.
Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagavath said they imposed PD Act on white-collar criminal for the first time in Telangana State. He said that Aruna Reddy has already 10 cases against her and she looted Rs 3.23 crore by deceiving 19 people since 2009. He said they shifted Aruna Reddy to Chanchalguda jail by filing case against her.
Earlier, the police also arrested her in 2005 for deceiving a PSU Bank by fabricating documents. He explained that PD Act will be filed against those persons indulging in criminal activities repeatedly. (NSS)
