Thiruvananthapuram: Congress MP and former UN diplomat Shashi Tharoor today said the surgical strikes carried out by the army across the LoC were ‘very very sensible, measured and proportionate retaliation’.
Killing 19 soldiers was a provocation, he said referring to the Uri terror attack. “What India did is very very sensible, measured and proportionate retaliation,” he told reporters here.
Tharoor, who represents Thiruvananthapuram in Lok Sabha, said ‘a real message’ has been sent to Pakistan that they cannot send troops to “our country to attack our targets’, people and jawans”.
“All seem to be well done…I am proud of the armed forces. They seem to have gone and conducted a successful strike, returned causalities…A real message has gone,” he said.
KPCC president V M Sudheeran congratulated the armed forces for conducting a successful strike and extended full support to them.
