Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Nidhi Gupta, who secured the third spot in the prestigious civil services exam, says real happiness for her would begin when she starts serving in the field.
“I’m happy but real happiness will come when I’ll be able to serve in the field. If you talk of bringing reforms to the system, then you have to be a part of the system,” Gupta told ANI.
Meanwhile, her proud mother said the family was busy responding to the numerous phone calls from friends and well-wishers.
“We are proud of her. She always wanted to be in civil services. She has been a topper all her life,” said Gupta’s mother.
The UPSC results this year have seen four women grab the top five spots.
A total of 1,236 candidates have been recommended for appointment to IAS, IFS, IPS and central services in the results announced on Saturday afternoon.
A total of 254 candidates have also been kept in a consolidated reserved list.
While Ira Singhal topped the examination, Renu Raj and Nidhi Gupta stood second and third, respectively. (ANI)
