Johannesburg: Spanish giants Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are all set to appeal against their one-year ban from registering new players by FIFA.
Both clubs were banned by the world’s football governing body for breaching code of conduct over the transfer of foreign minors.
Confirming the news, Madrid said in a statement that the decision was absolutely inadmissible and that the club would appeal against it, Sport24 reported.
Meanwhile, Atlentico president Enrique Cerezo also said that they were right and would appeal the ban.
Crezo, however, said that his side consist of some really good young players, adding that they could overcome these two windows without signings.
Besides the ban, Real and Atlentico were also fined 358,000 dollars and 895,000 dollars respectively.
As per the international football rules, players under the age of 18 cannot be transferred to another country, except in limited circumstances. (ANI)
