Mumbai, April 29: RAGINI MMS has started gaining visibility for itself for its shocking content but the makers are still not being over-zealous in their promotion. Since the film amalgamates elements of sex, horror and paranormal with a camera playing a major role in the narrative, the makers are cautious about how to cut the promos of the film and show audience for what RAGINNI MMS stands for.
“There are multiple promos that have been cut for the film and other than the fact that they do give convey the paranormal happenings that form the crux of RAGINNI MMS, it is the explicitness of the visual/audio content that they are more concerned about”, says a source, “There is a niche audience that they are targeting and they are pretty much willing to expose to them (pun intended) what the film is all about. However they don’t want to overdo it lest there is too much revelation.”
Meanwhile it is quite apparent, as conveyed through the poster design, the song promo (Raat Akeli Hai) as well as other teasers of the film that sex plays a major role in the narrative. This does remind one of one of the episodes (the one set in a departmental store) from LOVE SEX AUR DHOKHA.
“Both films have hidden camera playing a major role in the narrative”, he adds, “While in LOVE SEX AUR DHOKHA, there was a story around how a young man secretly films the love making episode with his girlfriend, in RAGINNI MMS too the protagonist places a camera to capture him in action with his girlfriend.”
One wonders though how difficult was it for the newcomer actors to bring on the explicit visuals for the camera?
“Well, the actors were informed in advance around what the requirement of the film and hence no one really complained when these scenes were shot for RAGINNI MMS”, the source continues, “Resultantly what audience gets to see are sequences that follow the route of ‘reality’ rather than something which is usually expected to follow cinema aesthetics.”
We are game for that as long as the story being told is interesting as well.
