Ready to kill or get killed to protect cow: Raja Singh over beef festival in OU

Opposing beef festival in Osmania University in Hyderabad, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Raja Singh has called it a political conspiracy.

Telangana Raja Singh MLA from Goshamal, has said that he is ready to ‘kill or get killed’ to protect the ‘Gau Mata’ (cow).

Warning the organisers of the beef festival, Raja Singh said “if they wanted to avoid a Dadri type lynching in Telangana, they must give up beef festival. We are ready to kill or get killed to protect cows. We have the right to stop cow killers. This festival is a political ploy by some anti-Hindutva elements.”

“Before being a politician, I am a Hindu. Being a Hindu, I am committed to the cause of cow protection. If am an MLA today, it is just because of the blessing of ‘gou mata’, and I am duty-bound to protect her. I don’t bother if the BJP supports me or not. Even Narendra Modi cannot stop me from going ahead with my crusade to protect ‘gou maata’,” he said.

Raja Singh also ironically demanded the removal of Telangana BJP President G Kishen Reddy for his not taking a stand against cow slaughter, and demanded that he apologise to Hindus.

A delegation of BJP, VHP and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, led by Raja Singh Lodh, submitted two memorandums to principal secretary Ranjeev R Acharya, who is also in charge vice-chancellor of Osmania University.

According to the report, the delegation called on the officer at the Secretariat and demanded to stop Beef Festival. If the Beef Festival was permitted, the Hindu organisations should be allowed to conduct Gau Mata Puja (worshipping of mother cow) or Yagna on the OU campus.

Osmania University students have decided to hold a beef eating festival on December 10 to protest against the Dadri killings and beef bans across the country.
