Ready for anything on ‘cash-for-vote’ scam: HM

The TRS Government is ready for facing anything if Andhra Pradesh Government proves alleged involvement of Telangana officials in “cash-for-vote” episode, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy has said.

Speaking to mediapersons at the Secretariat here on Monday, the Home Minister said the State government was not shying away from facing anything if the AP Government goes ahead with its plans to retaliate with false cases. “Let them prove the allegedf involvement of our officials and we will see what happens then”, he said.

When scribes insisted that he react to AP ministers repeated challenges of taking serious action against Telangana officials, Nayani said, “We will see what they will do”. Asked whether they have compromised on the issue and adopting soft-corner on slapping of notices to Chandrababu, the Home Minister hastened to add that the law will take its own course on the cash scam.

Earlier, Narsimha Reddy refused to say that the TRS Government compromised on cash-for-vote episode. He also refuted news reports that they have asked the ACB not to slap notices on AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The ACB will go on with its investigation followed by forensic lab reports to issue notices to those who were involved in the case. “We will not let off any bigwigs involved in the case, irrespective of their stature”, he said, adding that all are equal before law. He also claimed that the TRS Government would keep all promises made in the manifesto. KCR team was going ahead with complete responsibility to serve the people, he added. (NSS)
