Ready to face fresh probe into Volkswage scam: Botsa

Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Sunday said that he was ready to face a fresh probe into the Volkswagen scam.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, Botsa denied the allegations leveled against him by YSR Congress leader Sharmila stating that he was involved in the scam. Stating that Sharmila or YSR Congress party honorary president Vijayamma have no moral right to speak about corruption, he said that he was ready to face a fresh probe into the Volkswagen issue. Asking Vijayamma and Sharmila to write a letter to the investigation agencies seeking probe into Volkswagen scam, he said the YSR Congress leaders should also agree for a fresh probe into the murder case of TDP leader Paritala Ravi to clear the name of Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

The PCCa chief alleged that Sharmila’s husband Anil Kumar was involved into the illegal mining in Bayyaram area. He said Sharmila should first clear the corruption charges against her husband Anil Kumar and her brother Jaganmohan Reddy before making any comments about the Congress party leaders.

Botsa also refuted the YSR Congress leaders’ allegations that the Congress party knew beforehand about the possibility of helicopter crash in which former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy was killed. He said the Congress leaders would have stopped YSR at any cost from travelling in the ill-fated helicopter if they would have got a minor hint about a possible accident.

The PCC president also slammed TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu for his alleged involved in corruption. He demanded that Naidu clarify the allegations leveled against him by Kola Krishna Mohan. He advised Naidu to retire from politics as he has lost grip over the subject. Unlike by-elections’ speeches, Naidu made promises to the people as if he was facing a general election. However, he said Naidu failed to present a proper agenda before the voters.

While appealing the people to vote for the Congress party, Botsa said that people would be wasting their precious votes if they utilise the same for YSR Congress or TDP. He said voting in favour of YSR Congress candidates would be like voting for corruption and violence. He said the people could expect proper implementation of State and Central Government schemes if they vote for the Congress candidates in the ensuing by-elections.
