Reach of television is wide, says Prachi Desai

Actress Prachi Desai, who was the part of small screen before entering Bollywood, has lauded the growth of television and says that its reach is vast.

“I think the way television is growing is phenomenal. Television as a medium has always been really vast and it reaches out to so many people… that’s just amazing. So yes, the reach is definitely way vaster and wider. I think it is unmatchable,” Prachi told IANS over the phone from Mumbai.

Prachi, who ventured into Bollywood in 2008, was last seen in the sports drama Azhar. The film, that also stars Emraan Haashmi, will air on Sony Max on August 14. The actress, who worked with Emraan in Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, says working with him again was really nice.

“I worked with Emraan in Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai. Thankfully our pair was very well received so coming together in Azhar was really nice. The familiarity was, of course, a lot and yes we do share a rapport. That always helps actors in terms of their work.”

Azhar, which released on May 13 on the big screen, also features actress Nargis Fakhri.

Earlier, Actress Prachi Desai also promoted her film Azhar on So You Think You Can Dance Ab India Ki Baari. She sais she was in awe of Bollywood’s dancing diva Madhuri Dixit-Nene and ace choreographers Bosco Martis and Terence Lewis, who are seen as judges on the dance reality show.

“’So You Think You Can Dance’ is India’s biggest dance platform. I am in awe of the judges of the show. I hope that the journey of the contestants are fruitful and wish them all the very best,” Prachi said in a statement.
