In view of ongoing strike by RTC crew, the students attending EAMCET 2015 should reach the examination centers well in advance by Thursday night, AP Human Resources Development Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao has said.
Speaking to mediapersons at the Secretariat here on Thursday after holding talks with APSCHE Chairman VSS Kumar, the minister asked the RTC workers to rethink on the strike to avoid inconvenience to the students. Since postponement of the examinations was not possible now, the parents should cooperate, he said, adding that the officials will take a decision to allow students attending the centers late.
The State government has taken over private buses to shift students and RTC officials were asked to make similar efforts as only 40 per cent of RTC buses were plying in 13 districts, the minister said. Some seven lakh students will be taking EAMCET (2.55 lakh) and DSC in the State, he said, adding that despite the RTC strike they made alternative arrangements for the examinations to be conducted as per schedule. The parents should make sure that their children reach the centers avoiding delay.
While Engineering examinations will be held between 10 am and 1 pm, Medicine and Agriculture examinations will be held from 2.30 pm to 5.30pm. To avoid inconvenience, the government is pressing private vehicles for public transport, Rao said. In Hyderabad too, the students can take the examinations in some 30 to 40 centers, he added. (NSS)
