Deputy Mahmood Ali CM has launched Re 1 per kg fine rice scheme at Malakpet on Tuesday.
He said task force headed by civil supplies minister Etala Rajender will keep an eye on the implementation of the scheme and steps were being taken to prevent black marketing of fine rice meant for the deserving people.
Deserving beneficiaries are being supplied 6 kgs of fine rice per person at the rate of Re 1 per kg and there would be no third party.
The scheme was also launched by home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, excise minister T. Padma Rao commercial taxes minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and at different places in the city.
