RDF demands withdrawal of army men from Chattisgarh

Revolutionary Democratic Front (RDF) has demanded that the Union government withdraw military force from Chattisgadh.

Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, RDF president and revolutionary writer Vara Vara Rao demanded that the Centre stop Green Hunt Operation. He wanted the Union government to scrap “Salwajudam” and implement Supreme Court verdict on the issue. He also wanted the Centre to immediately cancel the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Multi National Mining Companies in the East and Central areas in the country.

V V Rao has alleged that the Centre was trying to set up permanent military camps in Odisha, Jharkhand and Chattisgarh States. He said that a fact-finding committee, led by social activist B.D. Sharma, had visited the Odisha, Jharkhand and Chattisgarh States to release a document on military activities in the tribal areas.

RDF vice-president Ganti Prasadam alleged that the Centre was evacuating tribal people in the name of setting up industries. He charged the Centre with destroying tribal livelihood in the name of development.

High Court Advocate Bojja Tarakam and Prof. K.R. Chowdary were also present. (NSS)
