Abu Dhabi, September 13: The Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has commenced distribution of Dh6.5million initial Zakat Al Fitr in the country and abroad in line with the Ramadan Seasonal Projects undertaken annually by the RCA to alleviate suffering of the needy during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr days.
The zakat amounts are expected to rise during this week until the last day of Ramadan, a move that will increase the number of beneficiaries from the project both in the UAE and abroad.
The RCA has already started distribution of the Dh4million zakat to the needy across the UAE, targeting 15,000 needy families.
The Dh2.5 million zakat amount allocated for spending overseas will reach beneficiaries in 60 countries.
Meanwhile, The Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) announced sponsorship of a special event for orphans, titled ‘A Ramadan to Remember’ as part of its endeavours to support the community.
The memorable Ramadan event for 25 children – full of fun, excitement and compassion will be a good chance to give away something more valuable and true to the spirit of Ramadan.
ADCB has always been supporting similar initiatives as part of its social responsibility. This sponsorship comes during Ramadan for the benefit of orphans.
“We, at ADCB, are happy to share these precious days of ‘A Ramadan to Remember’ with the orphans, special children most deserving of our attention and care. Through this special event, we confirm our dedication to support and develop effective programmes and events for orphans.
