RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan is expected to visit Hyderabad on Tuesday.
According to the information, Raghuram Rajan is likely to hold separate meetings with Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh K Chandrasekhar Rao and N Chandrababu Naidu respectively on October 15. Raghuram is likely to address a Central Board meeting at RBI in Hyderabad on October 16.
The RBI chief may take a decision on crop loan waiver and fresh loans being sought by both the governments. Rajan’s visit assumes significance as Telangana government waived off 25 per cent of crop loans while its AP counterpart promised 20 per cent crop loan waiver. Both the governments are now seeking fresh loans to the farmers in their States. (NSS)
