One Razia Begum of Sultan Shahi in old city, has demanded the State government to take stern action against the doctors of Care Hospital, Nampally, who had collected Rs three lakh for providing treatment to her husband Mohd Rasheed, even though they were having Arogya Sri card.
Speaking to the media persons here on Tuesday, she said that they had admitted her husband in Care Hospital, at 2 am in the night by contacting the Aarogya Mitra counter, and coming to know that Neuro Surgery is covered in the Aarogyasri Scheme under clause S 10.
She alleged that the Doctors at the Hospital have demanded Rs. 1,50,000 immediately as they were going to do the Neuro Surgery and again the doctor called them in the counseling room, spoke to her brother in-law Sarwar and five friends of her husband and demanded money, by emotionally blackmailing that the patient is having only five percent of life.
When they went to the Aarogya Mithra counter and spoke to Meher Unnisa and Bhaskar, they said that the hospital people were resorting to conspiracy and cheating. She said that they have lodged a complaint to the district manager Ramakrishna, but he has failed to take any action against the hospital management and doctors so far.
She said that they were illiterate and does not know anything about Aarogya Sri scheme and the office address and the doctors have taken huge amount from them dialy Rs.35,000 to 50,000. The doctors have collected an amount of Rs. Three lakh from them. She said that they have got the money from money lenders with huge interest. The doctors also were demanding payment of Rs 70,000 now.
She appealed to the state government to take action against the doctors and the hospital and recover Rs three lakh rupees from the Hospital management.
