Mumbai: Reacting strongly against the mention of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) and his first wife Khadija (RAA) in the song ‘Manikya Malaraya Poovi’ of the Malayalam film ‘Oru Adaar Love’, Raza Academy has asked the film director and producer to delete the song from the film. Raza Academy will write a letter to Mumbai police commissioner and sensor board.
The director of the film is Omar Lulu, the song has been composed by Shaan Rahman and Vineeth Sreenivasan is the playback singer. The song features first time actress Priya Prakash Varrier and Roshan Abdur Rauf.
Founder of the Raza Academy Sayeed Noori said that the song praising Prophet (PBUH) and Hazrat Khadija (RAA) has been sung since 1945 in Kerala. Muslims of Kerala love to sing that song on festive occasions. But the song has been used in the film, which we oppose. As the names of Holy persons cannot be used in the films. The academy warned of legal action if the song is not removed from the film.
Maulana Fayyaz Ahmed Barkati said Hazrat Khadija (RAA) is among Ummahatul Momineen, no one can play her character hence the song should be deleted from the film. It has hurt religious sentiments of Muslims.
Maulana Valiullah Shareefi said film which shows songs, dances and other indecent acts is not the proper place to honour Prophet (PBUH). There are other occasions to honour them.
