Raymond to replace 10,000 employees with ROBOTS in India

New Delhi: This big news will really blow your mind away and it is a clear threat to employment opportunities in near future.

According to ET reports, 90-year-old apparel Major Raymond is planning to cut 10,000 jobs by introducing robots at its 16 manufacturing centres in next three years.

Reasoning the move, Raymond’s CEO Sanjay Behl said the company is trying to scale down the number of jobs through multiple initiatives and technology.

“Roughly 2,000 work in each plant. Through technological intervention we are looking to scale down the number of jobs to 20,000, through multiple initiatives in technology. One robot could replace around 100 workers. While it is happening in China at present, it will also happen in India.”
