Rayalaseema Youth Force (RYF) has alleged that the Congress was trying to divide the State only to make AICC vice- resident Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister of the nation.
In a pressnote here, RYF convener M Surya Prakash has stated that the proposal of division of Rayalaseema, which has historical background, was not reasonable. He condemned the proposal of division of Rayalaseema districts as the region has already lost its two districts — Bellari and Rayachur. He demanded the centre to keep the state united or else protect the Rayalaseema rights and its culture. He said lakhs of Rayalaseema youth were ready for sacrifices to retain united State. He warned that the RYF would not keep quiet if the Congress tried to make Telugu Talli a scapegoat for the sake of seats and votes.
He asked AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi and AICC general secretaries Digvijay Singh and Gulam Nabi Azad what they know about the State to propose division of the State. He said it was not proper to divide the State for the sake of Rahul Gandhi and advised the Congress to convince the people to make Rahul as Prime Minister. He took pledge that he will not allow the State to be divided.
