Rayalaseema leaders serve ultimatum to Centre

Kurnool, June 28: The leaders of various political parties and government employees in Rayalaseema issued an ultimatum to the Centre that Greater Rayalaseema should be carved out if separate Telangana was formed. “We are ready to sacrifice our lives for the cause,” they said.

They took a pledge to organise agitations mandal wise and motivate people and continue them till their goal was achieved. Representatives of various NGOs also attended the meet held in Rayalaseema Hakkula Aikya Vedika building here today. The Greater Rayalaseema Government Employees Federation was formed and MLA
T G Venkatesh was elected honorary president, G Christopher president and V Vengal Reddy as convener.

Speaking on the occasion, T G Venkatesh has said that a huge federation was formed joining 80 organisations in six districts. This, he said, will strive for realising Greater Rayalaseema.

He also said that they have formed the organisation to teach a lesson to proTelangana people who have been repeatedly stating that they would chase away natives of Rayalaseema from Hyderabad. He made it clear that they would not keep silent over the injustice being done to them and that they were ready to sacrifice their lives.

Federation president G Christopher said that the state of Andhra Pradesh, a part of India, was not the TRS chief’s property. “We wish that all the three regions should stay together.

In case, if there is a division, we want Greater Rayalaseema,” he demanded. He said they would not tolerate any inequality to people in Rayalaseema. APNGOs state president V Gopal Reddy, Class IV employees association state president Kullayappa, Kurnool mayor Raghurami Reddy, MLAs Labbi Venkataswamy and Muralikrishna, presidents and secretaries of NGOs in Nellore, Chittor, Kadapa and Anantapur districts and representatives of people’s organisations participated in the meeting.
