Former Minister JC Diwakar Reddy on Wednesday said that although he was against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, but in case the division becomes inevitable he would support formation of Rayala-Telangana.
Diwakar Reddy was reacting to the demand by Minor Irrigation Minister TG Venkatesh that the former should support ‘Samaikhyandhra’ and withdraw the demand for Rayala-Telangana’. Talking to reporters at Congress Legislature Party, Diwakar Reddy said that the he spoke to TG Venkatesh over telephone about this issue and clarified that he was proposing Rayala-Telangana as the second option and the first option was united Andhra Pradesh.
Diwakar Reddy said that he stands by his statement on Rayala-Telangana. However, he also appreciated the stand taken by Venkatesh and said he respects the invidual opinion of the Minor Irrigation Minister. He said that all Telugu speaking people should live in one State and that’s how they would able to maintain their unique identity in the country.
