Pune, April 26: Unseeded Raswant Ravi of Chennai and Prabhuti Singhania of Mumbai led an onslaught on fancied players as six seeds fell by the wayside at the Banyan Tree International School ATF Tennis Championships today.
Lanky Chennai-lad Ravi created the biggest upset in the boys’ event toppling top seed Karan Mehta 6-7(5) 6-0 6-1 in a second round match of the tournament organised by MSLTA School of Tennis at their Balewadi Complex here.
Girls’ top seed Aboli Ghoghari also met the same fate when Mumbai girl Prabhuti Singhania trounced her 6-4 6-0 in the second round.
A Shameema of Coimbatore created the second upset, edging out second seeded Devyanshi Bhimjiyani 6-0 6-3 to throw the girls’ draw wide open.
