Mirpur : Team Director Ravi Shastri has expressed that he hoped to see India continue their fearless brand of cricket in the Asia Cup final here against hosts Bangladesh on Sunday.
The former all-rounder also described India’s transformation into an aggressive fighting unit as ‘gradual but enjoyable one’.
“Since then we are the number one team in the world in T20 cricket. It has been a gradual process but enjoyable one. Let’s hope we show that kind of cricket in the final as well tomorrow,” Shastri told reporters on the eve of the summit clash.
Shastri stressed that his side are willing to play on whatever pitches is on offer.
“Pitch is not in our hands. We are ready to play on whatever tracks on offer. Our job is to go and play in whatever conditions. Both sides have to play on the same surface. So it is fair play,” he added.
Although India comfortably trounced the hosts by 45 runs in the opening match of the tournament, Bangladesh displayed tremendous amount of resilience as they won three successive matches to advance to the final.
India will start as favourites to win the continental trophy. (ANI)
