Ravi sees YSRC main challenger in coastal region

Stating that he has full knowledge of Telangana issues, Congress high command’s emissary Vayalar Ravi has said that the Centre would take a decision on the issue early. He said that he would first concentrate on the differences among party leaders in the State.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, Ravi said that he arrived here to hold consultations with the party leaders. He said that he would speak to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, PCC Chief Botcha Satyanarayana and other leaders. He exuded confidence that he would be able to sort out the differences among the leaders easily as all of them were seniors. He said that both the Chief Minister and PCC Chief have cordial relations and working unitedly. He advised the party cadre to take the government schemes to the people.

Making it clear that his visit was purely political, Ravi said that he elicited opinions of leaders of the three regions. “I will study the party’s position at field level” he said. He also said that late YSR was a tall leader of the Congress party and it would be improper to speak bad about him.

Ravi said that he was making the party leaders to gear up for the forthcoming bye-elections. He said that specifically he discussed the bye-elections’ issue with the party leaders in detail.
Stating that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party was also a rival like other Opposition parties in the State, he said that the YSR Congress party is considered to be the main challenger to the Congress in all districts, especially in the Coastal Andhra region. He said that he would submit a report to the party high command after speaking to all concerned. (NSS)
