Ravi Says Sonia Serious On By-Polls

Stating that the party high command has taken the upcoming bye-elections in the State very seriously, AICC observer Dr Vayalar Ravi made it clear that leaders were not important and the cadre has to take the party ideals to the people.

Speaking to the media after a review meeting with the party cadre at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office here on Friday, Dr Ravi refuted the allegations of YSR Congress Chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy that the present Kiran Kumar Reddy government abandoned the schemes introduced by late chief minister Dr YSR. He also asked the State party leaders to appoint booth-level committees with 10 members each within a week. The Chief Minister, who also participated in the meeting, advised the party cadre to explain the facts about power tariff hike to the people.

Earlier, the Chief Minister hosted lunch in honour of visiting Union Ministers Vayalar Ravi, Sharad Pawar, Charan Das Mahantha, M M Pallam Raju this afternoon at camp residence here. Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha, PCC president and Transport Minister Botcha Satyanarayana, Ministers — N. Raghuveera Reddy, Kanna Lakshminarayana, Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao, P.Viswaroop, Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy, several MPs, MLAs, MLCs and other dignitaries attended the luncheon meeting.
