Mumbai, April 29: Actor Raveena Tandon has come out in support of suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi.
“Look at the heights where this man has taken the game of cricket to. In all the nations where cricket is played or has fans of this game, IPL is a hit.”
In the same breath, Tandon came to the defence of her colleagues Shilpa Shetty, who is one of the owners of Rajasthan Royals, and Preity Zinta, who co-owns Kings XI Punjab, by saying, “I stand by these two for I know they would never lie.”
In Ludhiana, to inaugurate a private beauty clinic on Wednesday, she said, “I have no interest in owning a team for the task seems too stressful. I have seen Shipla and Preity when they are on field cheering for their teams. I know I cannot take the stress.”
Raveena added, “Moreover, my four children (two of them adopted) keep me busy and I am left with no time to myself.”
Married to film distributor Anil Thadani, Raveena was last seen on screen in 2006 in the movie Sandwich, opposite Govinda.
She is, however, yet to hang her boots and said, “I am still looking for some great challenging roles and would love to play a terrorist.”
