Raunchy party in Shameerpet raided

Hyderabad, March 02: The illegal and indecent activities in entertainment and amusement places on the outskirts of the city came to light once again with the Cyberabad police arresting 18 young women dancers indulging in vulgar dances in a resort at Shameerpet. Police also arrested 23 persons who were `enjoying’ their weekend at the resort.

On information that partying was going on in the Rev’s Exotica resort at Upperapally village in Shameerpet mandal on the city outskirts, Shamirpet police raided the resort late on Sunday night.

They found 18 young girls dancing in an indecent manner and nearly 23 guests enjoying the skin show. “The girls were dancing with skimpy clothes and the men were enjoying by throwing money and even touching them in an indecent manner,” Shameerpet police inspector Narender Reddy said.

The girls, in the age group of 18-25 hail from different States. Twelve of them are from Mumbai, two from Orissa and the remaining four are from our State.

A majority of the 23 men caught in the raid are realtors or businessmen hailing from the outskirts of the city, the inspector said.

The women were procured by the resort management by paying a hefty price to dance and entertain customers.

Customers too were made to pay heavily to enjoy the show, police said.

According to sources, the activity has been going for some months, particularly on weekends.

Meanwhile, locals of Upperapally complained that the late-night partying with loud music and dances was disturbing the serene atmosphere of the village and giving them sleepless nights.

Police arrested the resort manager, Mohan, but the owner, Durga Prasad, is absconding.

The arrested were booked under various sections of IPC and the Cyberabad City Police Act for indulging in obscene acts and were remanded in judicial custody. Recently, the Cyberabad police busted a similar party at another resort on the outskirts.

Interestingly, a police subinspector was caught in the raid.
