Rathore lays foundation stone of 10kw FM Transmitter in Meerut

Meerut : Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore laid foundation stone of 10KW FM Transmitter for All India Radio’s new FM set up in Meerut.

At the function, he said “In the huge and sprawling network of All India Radio in India, AIR, Meerut is a significant milestone which will cater to the hithertofore forgotten Korvi-speaking Western Uttar Pradesh populace.”

He added that AIR has been serving people of India and are now serving global audience through various New Media modes fairly effectively to a greater advantage of India’s pluralistic nationhood.

He congratulated the local Member of Parliament for having acted as a catalyst in getting this project expedited which resulted in today’s occasion of translating a dream of people in Meerut into reality. He also said that the Government was determined to FMize services of All India Radio in a manner that takes them to the entire population in the years to come.

After the function, in his tweets he mentioned that “All India Radio increasing its FM reach..Towards Enhanced Quality, Better Coverage..”

Scheme for setting up of 10 KW AIR FM Station with Limited Studio Facility at Meerut has been approved in 12th plan schemes of AIR at the cost of Rs. 7.94 crore. Transmitter and associated equipment are under procurement. It is likely to take about two years for completion of the project. (ANI)
