Hyderabad: A rare surgery was successfully conducted on an 80-year-old man by the cardiologists at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderguda on Monday. Calcium deposits had formed in the arteries of the man blocking the free flow of blood hence a minimally invasive surgery was conducted.
Telangana Today has quoted Director, Cathlab, Apollo Hospitals, Dr. P L N Murthy as saying, “The patient came to the hospital with severe breathlessness and fatigue and was not able to take up routine activities. Due to his age, open heart surgery and valve replacement was ruled-out. He already had undergone a bypass surgery and a redo surgery was not advisable.”
