A rare photograph showing the dead bodies of dozens of Titanic victims stacked high in bags, before they were buried at sea, has been made public for the first time.
The snap, which shows two men dropping a victim over the side of body recovery ship, the Mackay Bennett, was taken days after the ship hit an iceberg on April 15, 1912, the Mirror reported.
The pic also shows the boat’s Rev Hind leading the service as the somber crew looks on.
Henry Aldridge and Son will auction the photo, which is set to fetch 5,000 pounds, on October 19.
It is understood that around 1,522 people died in the accident.
Auctioneer Andrew Aldridge asserted that the picture blows away the myth the burials were dignified. (ANI)
